At the end of September, on the initiative of the Lithuanian Republic's consulate in Valencia, cultural events took place "Lithuanian Days in Valencia" dedicated to the 15 year anniversary of the resumption of diplomatic relations between Spain and Lithuania.
The opening of the cultural days took place in Valencia's museum of modern art. Art and culture representatives, directors of higher education facilities, the consulate corps and journalists all participated. The museum of modern art "VUVIM" displayed Lithuanian paintings, prints, jewelry, textiles and sculpture from Vilnius' "Maþoji galerija" (The Small Gallery). Volanda Raupelytë, the owner of the gallery, told about how the gallery has survived for a good decade amidst the artistic community and already today has formed a stylistic touch. Every artist on display in the gallery – is a separate, interesting and individual personality in Lithuania's creative life. The "Maþoji galerija" exposition – is the first presentation of the gallery to the Spanish community. All total, the works of 35 artists were on display. |
